Clothed in innocence driven by a dream when big dreams in big cities cause big trouble leaving nothing to be thankful for
Desperation awoke the trade of barter from within her
With each day’s toil, she traded
a piece of her mind
a touch of her soul
the use of her body
Failing to see her negotiation skills were poorer than her non-existent bank balance
Bartered her brains for powder
A powder that obliterate a mind once brilliant
Her pride for compliments and company
Of disgusting misleading strangers she was convinced were friends and lovers
Consciousness for intoxication
that would have her believe that she was in-fact coping
Failing to see her negotiation skills were poorer than her pauper father’s empty bank account
Ignorant of her natural resource depletion Lebohang bartered herself into non-existence leaving nothing to be thankful for
Could someone not have told this young soul
A soldier in battle with no armour and weapons, is one that wouldn’t sight an end of war sunrise
why did poor Lebohang have to die and be so naive? i sit and wonder how many more Lebohangs are out there. how many more have to go through all this just in search of a “better” lifestyle

I shutter to think how many Lebo’s are out there, and bearing in mind that they dont necessarily have to be in big cities bo Lebza ba everywhere and in all of us there is potential to turn into such if we dont focus on developing ourselves and working hard to get whats ours. What may seem like the easy can become very difficult as well
