So many things to be infuriated by…

From the wake of day first news broadcast just the headlines and already I’m livid Reminded that another is without and in comparison my life is a blessing and I appreciate it ….sometimes, mostly certainly not enough Whilst I grapple with the iniquity that is our society which I care about deeply when I am not preoccupied with myself,my goals, work,my budget and remembering to make an appointment to do my nails. What do you know all of a sudden I am running late again forget inequality traffic is the real issue and at times the route of all evil. Second New … Continue reading So many things to be infuriated by…

Insist and Persist

A radio show, call to my sister and a conversation with friends lands me in an inquisitive ponder on insistence and persistence. Shall I unpack? Ok so I catch an interesting show on power fm where listeners were asked “what would they do if they were not afraid?” I then speak with my sister and we reflect on the week, work, our theatrical family and more. Her real name is SELF DOUBT ,watch out for her. Continue reading Unannounced she arrives

So today I attended my first high tea hosted by the High Tea Society at the Glenvista country club. I expected to have a great time and my expectations were surpassed to my absolute delight. We were all dolled up hats and all, even those of us who had to raid mama’s hat collection. Thank you mama good looking out. The young ladies that attended the event we not only beautiful but thoroughly … Continue reading A cup of tea

No we are not the youth of 76

Every year in South Africa the month June is celebrated as Youth month, in commemoration of the mass action the students of 1976 displayed on the 16th of June. This is both a brilliant and auspicious time which some how for me is always bitter sweet. There seems to be a general need in the media and in conversations mainly had during this month, to compare the youth of now to that of 1976. I am confused as to why this should be the case. They were the youth of then and we are the youth of now. Our journeys are … Continue reading No we are not the youth of 76
